  • There’s very little research funding dedicated to advanced breast cancer
  • A small percentage of the money raised in the name of breast cancer goes directly to those with advanced breast cancer
  • There are few support services specifically for those with advanced breast cancer
  • There is little awareness and understanding of advanced breast cancer
  • There are at least five innovative medicines that improve quality and/or length of life for those with advanced breast cancer that are funded in Australia but not New Zealand

Maintaining critical support networks such as online forums (Metavivors) for patients to support each other both emotionally and in an information sharing capacity.
