Our Events

The Karen Louisa Foundation has raised approximately $180K to date since 2016.

This was done through many events held at the Scott family establishments – with all donations and sales on the night going directly to the Foundation.  There has been many amazing events over the years which has highlighted the huge generosity of the Wellington community – both from fellow hospitality establishments and also from individuals.

All our events are kept up to date on our Facebook page.

A Bit Of A Do Launch Party

20,000

150 people came to The Featherston Tavern on the 27th February 2016 to support us and we raised $20k! We were blown away by everyone’s generosity and support.

There was music by Aaron Andis, delicious food (and hot dog’s to takeaway at the end!), raffles galore, $5 lucky dip balloons with prizes in them, discounted drinks and the two auction items that went for a combined $4k! And of course there was a photo booth which was a whole heap of fun!  Every single cent that went across the bar, from the ticket sales, from the raffle sales from everything and anything went to the Dr. Parry Guilford ctDNA research project.

Taste Of Spain

35,000

We held a Spanish themed long lunch at Avida on the 2nd April 2016 and raised $35K in one gorgeously long afternoon packed with food, wine and lots of generous hearts and wallets!

The auction items included four pieces of beautiful art – generously given to us by Exhibitions Gallery in Brandon St, Wellington. One of our most sought after pieces went for $5000! With the others going between an impressive $1200 to $2000!

We had an unbelievable $3000 Whitebait voucher given to us by Armstrong Prestige to be auctioned, so was a “Night at the Footy” – 4x tickets at ABs vs Wales in June and dinner at Ombra beforehand. We also had 2 night’s accommodation at The Tongariro Lodge in Turangi kindly donated by the fabulous team up there. And because things were going so well we threw into the auction mix a night up to Auckland, flights for 2 on Air NZ and a night at Rydges Hotel, a $500 voucher at Harbourside Restaurant and lunch the next day at Brew on Quay.

Pearls Of Wisdom From Sue Nicholson

8,000

80 ladies got together at Avida in Wellington to enjoy a 3 course dessert and wine match whilst listening to the wonderful Sue Nicholson speak! It was a really special evening and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  The food was amazing and so too was Sue!  We were donated a beautiful handmade quilt from a breast cancer patient in Australia which was silently auctioned for $350 and a private reading went for $850 in the silent auction as well!! Which bought the total grand total up to $8K raised for The Karen Louisa Foundation.  We are SO grateful to Sue for giving up her time and also to Rachel at Rachel’s Cakes  for the yummy handmade chocolates that everyone got to take home.  Also the crew at NZ Vision for donating the sound system and of course to Scent Floral Boutique for the stunning flowers, vases and table arrangements!
